The antidote to creeping authoritarianism is a coordinated, multi-sector movement. But how do we build that? And what role can lawyers play? Join Movement Law Lab for a two-hour online training on proven strategies to build a sustained civil resistance movement and the role lawyers can play in the fight against authoritarianism.
The purpose of this training is to:
Analyze the Threat and Define the Legal Role: Learn how the authoritarian playbook is being deployed across Ohio and reflect on the specific, strategic part lawyers must play in the resistance.
Strengthen Networks and Inspire Collective Action: Build relationships to improve local and statewide coordination, inspiring Ohio lawyers to act with shared courage.
Begin Thinking about Infrastructure and Shared Tactics: Identify gaps in current legal resources to ideate collective solutions and strategize how to best support noncooperation tactics against authoritarian consolidation.
This session is designed for attorneys, legal workers, and legal-sector-adjacent organizers who want a practical roadmap of resistance strategies, a clearer read on the moment, and a chance to connect across geography in Ohio.
